Since carpet is deeper than the surface of a mattress, how do you use it for 99% efficacy for carpet against dust mites?
Does it "bleach" the carpet (washout the colors)?
With general use, following the product guidelines, the UV light waves generated by either of these products will not promote fading of textiles.... it is designed to be gemicidal and it deacitivates the DNA of dust mites, bacteria, viruses and other pathogens and destroys their ability to multiply and cause disease. Some important facts to note:To be killed by UVC, germs must be irradiated directly; the light's effectiveness to kill these pathogens dimishes over distance, and the light is also best held at a perpendicular angle to the surface being disinfected for maximum exposure to the surface.. It is possible to use this product on carpet, but the exposure time needed will depend upon the depth and texture of the pile. A more effective UV product for carpet or highly textured surfaces could be our Dust Mite Vacuum or our Air Sanitizer and Cordless Vacuum, both of which actually bring the pathogens from the carpet in order to expose them to the light.
