FINALLY!
PostedNovember 2, 2011
Regular beeping alarm clocks jar me out of deep sleep, leaving me disoriented and crabby. I tried clocks that played music and the loud CLICK before the music came on was what woke me up. Almost as bad. This clock is magical. No clicks. No more being dragged into consciousness in a dark room. I gradually wake as the light increases and my cue to rise is a soft trickle of water. Fantastic.
I agree that the settings are not intuitive and you cannot see the time at night, so I still leave a regular clock on also. Small price. I LOVE this thing!

How bright does this light get? Is it gradual or jerky?

When the sun alarm is at maximum brightness, how does it compare to a standard 60 or 100 watt light bulb? Does the light really fade on, or does it step up at set levels?
I would compare it to a 40 watt bulb, frosted white. Not glaring. It increases in steps but there are 10 steps so it feels very gradual except for the the very first one. If you are facing the clock when it happens, you will notice the light come on. Gentle compared to regular clocks
