Easy to use - a nice product
PostedMay 24, 2014
I hate cleaning floors, but this really makes it easy.  I fill it with vinegar and water, and press the button to spray.  The  spray feature  makes it possible to clean the floor without huge puddles that are hard to mop up.  The clothes are very easy to change, and I like the fact they are re-useable.  My only complaint is that it seems to be overpriced compared to a $25 Swifter mop.

Make sure your little toe isn't too short
PostedFebruary 8, 2013
I tried these, but my little toe is significantly shorter than my fourth toe.  As a result, the toe separator kept coming off the little toe, and was quite annoying. After a few tries,  I decided to send them back.  Fortunately Gaiam has a good return policy if you are ever dissatisfied.  I do not doubt that they work well for some people, but if you are like me and have stunted baby toes, well you might not be able to get  the toe separator to work properly.

Wonderful fit; perfect for hatha yoga
PostedDecember 17, 2011
These 'shorts' are a pleasure to wear. Unlike synthetic fabrics used for exercise clothing, these are both form-fitting and comfortable. In hatha yoga, shorts that are too loose (like running shorts) or too tight (like lycra shorts) can be a distraction from the pose. These let my skin breathe in active postures, and keep me warm in relaxation. Thanks Gaiam for another wonderful product!

Not Just for Beginners!
PostedOctober 3, 2011
I have been practicing yoga for years, but find the pose guide to be invaluable. It is so easy to get into bad habits in different asanas and stances, especially if you only have a DVD teacher. (And Rodney Yee is a terrific DVD teacher, no question!) The pose training is a nice slow workout on its own. Both Rodney and Colleen Saidman show the common mistakes and then how to correct them. I feel as if I am in a master class, not a beginning class, with this DVD

Thick, Well -Made Mat
PostedFebruary 18, 2011
I enjoy the feeling of this mat, particularly for sitting and reclined poses. At first, I had trouble using the mat for some of the standing poses, and standing vinyasa (such as Sun Salutation), as my feet don't stick to the cotton mat. Over time I realized that the mat was doing me a favor, as I had to shorten my stance (in poses such as Triangle), relying of my own strength and not the stickiness of the mat. As such, I can focus more on developing and cultivating the proper stance in each pose, rather than perform an exaggerated silhouette that doesn't provide the same benefit as an inner-achieved asana.
I love this mat and place it over another Gaiam mat for a bit more thickness. The cotton mat is well designed to adhere really well to the bottom mat.

Does this actually come with 12 microclothes?

That's what it says in the description, but I wanted to verify before ordering.

Can my 60 year old mother-in-law use this with ease?

She does not currently do any type of physical exercise and I need to get her doing someting and I think yoga would be perfect for her, however I am not sure what to start her with - I want something that will explain the poses and be "easy" for her and provide her the stretching and relaxation that she needs. She has no previous experience with Yoga.

I think this DVD would be excellent for her. She can start with the Pose Training, as it is very thorough and very slow moving.

Usually it is best to start yoga with an in-person teacher. Check with your local senior center. This DVD would be an excellent supplement.

Any DVD's available for folks with moderate to severe joint involvement do to arthritis?

I am a yoga instructor, 64 yrs. old and am now finding that a fast moving vinyasa practice is not helpful for my knees and joints in general. Rodney Yee's Am workout is great for me and I love it...but, I would like to see more DVD's for older adults who relish their yoga but can no longer jump and move quickly,. I believe yoga can be a central component to all our lives as we age. Is this being addressed?

I had a severe wrist injury two months ago and now cannot put any weight on my left wrist, so I cannot do some of the common vinyasa practices. Even though I am not technically a beginner, I like Yoga for Beginners best now; it is very slow moving, emphasizing accuracy overall, and it gives me time to get my yoga block in place to support my forearm in postures like Downward Dog.

I agree, it would be nice to see a DVD that addresses accommodations for those with different joint injuries and diseases.
