Good Pilates, Bad Cardio
PostedJune 21, 2010
I absolutely adore Ana Caban as a Pilates instructor, yet I was very disappointed in this DVD. I enjoyed learning some new variations on Pilates exercises (the single-leg Teaser rocks!), but the cardio segment is truly dreadful. Ms. Caban does not keep time to the music, which is maddening (I don't know if she's rhythmically challenged or if it's just bad music editing), and the routines are just plain boring. Additionally, the cardio segment is not at all challenging - it would only be appropriate for absolute beginners who aren't in good shape at all. Overall, quite disappointing.

I see in the middle picture on the back that people are wearing shoes and on a hard surface. Can this workout be done on a carpeted floor?

Also, if I already have the Buns & Thighs, Advanced Body Sculpting & Maximum Burn Basics DVD's, does this one have anything different? I'm craving NEW/MORE MARI!
Yes, carpet or hard floor are both OK.

On a scale of 1-10, how tough is this particular workout?

The Pilates segment is about an 8 for those who do Pilates regularly. The cardio section is about a 2.
