Happy!
PostedNovember 15, 2010
Very good quality. Was worried because its almost as thin as a very thick quilt but it is heavy and keeps me perfect warm without sweating and never leaves me cold. Never heard of this fiber before but now I am a believer. Very happy with purchase. Took it to an organic dry cleaner and came back as good as new. Didn't really notice the strong odor others mentioned that had me worried. Happy Happy Joy Joy

I am concerned about the review mentioning odor. Is this normal for this product?

I was apprehensive about ordering it because of the mention of the odor but the truth is there is basically none. Every thing I have ever bought, even designer duds, have a factory/ store scent to it. It is only natural for something to not be odorless. I think it smells of a new natural fiber. Plain and simple. used it as it came and only went to the organic dry cleaners after I spilled my coffee on it

what happens to Kapok fibers when exposed to water?

i understand that the care instruction dictate dry clean, but i am curious as to why. obviously cotton can be washed, so is it the kapok fibers themselves that somehow disintegrate, shrink, or become matted when exposed to water? it would be great to be able to wash this product, even on the gentle cycle ...

I was drinking coffee in bed and spilled a good amount on it and it was not destroyed. I actually didn't go to my organic dry cleaners for 3 days while I was waiting for my other load there to finish. I don't like to mess with things that read dry clean only from past experiences with sweaters. In the past I also ruined an expensive down comforter for putting it in the wash then dry. Organic dry cleaning is the best way to go.
